Sorry, but you do make an impact :)

Intentional vs. Unintentional Impact.
These words have been burning to get out- so what better day than International Women’s Day?

I was recently inspired by one of our Inner Circle members (a monthly membership for Admin in Real Estate) when we were discussing exhaustion.
I have definitely dealt with this myself in the past. Have you ever felt like you just did NOT have a successful day unless you’re completely exhausted at the end of it?
One of our members made this comment:

"Margaret Smith I’m thinking maybe I use it (making yourself exhausted each day) as an excuse to not do anything the rest of my free time other than watch TV and play on my phone. I think deep down I may keep my self “busy” but not productive in terms of my personal life because I don’t know that I could make a difference in this world if I did set my mind on something and took action to accomplish that goal. 🤔"

Whether or not we want to accept this: we make an impact on the world regardless of if its intentional or not.

Example:
👉 Me going throughout my day checking things off my list and getting shit done versus:
👉 Me going throughout my day checking things off my list and getting shit done WITH the INTENTION of being extremely present when I'm interacting with another human.

= both make an impact on the world.
One is intentional, one is not.

Make sense? EITHER WAY- we have to acknowledge that we’re making an impact. It DOES have a ripple effect.
It is time to realize we ARE NOT SMALL and insignificant. I'm sorry if you want to keep hiding behind this belief AND I will not let you.

And its time to step up and take responsibility for our presence, energy, abilities and intentions. Whether we like to acknowledge it or not- every SINGLE day you're impacting your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, the grocery clerk, the coffee shop lady that you WANT to say hi to but you're sure she'll think you're weird for doing it, the garbage man who you always want to wave at but you're SURE he'll think you're odd, the other people you want to speak your truth to but you're SURE It won't make a difference what you think/say/do/eat/breath/sleep.

Hi. It's time to acknowledge that inner self. And that KNOWING that you have- that you DO make a difference, and it takes work.

A question I like to ask myself when I find myself people pleasing:
When I get to the end of my life, and I'm lying there thinking about all the things I've worked on, accomplished, places I've been, etc... am I going to want to think to myself:
"Oh my gosh, I'm so glad I did everything THEY wanted me to do."

Options. There are ALWAYS OPTIONS.
Stop yourself from thinking "I CANT".

I can't, I don't have time.
I can't, I don't have space.
I can't, I'm a Mom.
I can't, I'm a business owner.
I can't, I'm a daughter.
I can't, I'm an Admin.
I can’t, I’m a Dad.
I can't, I'm afraid.
I can't. I'm sweating I’m so nervous.
I can't. It's too hard.

Little baby steps by starting with the reminder (put it on signs all around your house to change your automatic thinking):
-How can I create space for myself?
-How can I leverage something in my personal life to create space for me? House cleaner? Baby sitter once a week?
-What would help me to FEEL better right now? How can I incorporate that more?

YOUR presence is having an impact whether you like it or not.
By taking care of yourself- you're actually impacting the world around you- its the ripple effect.

Create the space you need to sit in the quiet and embrace the fact that you CAN and DO make a difference in the world.
Own your space. Take ACTION.

Bring intention into your daily life and live in the present moment.
